Silver Heart

This card is my latest entry for My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge that can be found here.

I started by embossing the Lined Up Dots BG with white on black, then black on white to make the background.  I made the frame by using two of the double stitched rectangle dies, then used that same die to cut the white piece for the center.  The heart was die cut from silver glitter paper.  I cut the arrow through the heart die twice so I could put a red one on top.  The sentiment was added by white embossing on a black strip and then using scissors to cut the flag end.  I love how the red just pops.

Products I used:
MFT Lined Up Dots BG
MFT Essential Sentiments
MFT Double Stitched Rect Stax dies
MFT Tag Builder Blueprints 5 die
SSS Large Hearts set die

Simon Says Stamp Flickr Challenge

Simon Says Stamp Flickr challenges are so fun and they have great themes.  I made this card for their latest challenge #88, Water Coloring.  The sample cards are gorgeous and great inspiration.  I stamped the SSS Kaledioscope and embossed it with silver pearl embossing powder.  I used picked raspberries, spun sugar, shabby shutters, and pumice stone distress inks for my water color.  The third pink color was made by mixing picked raspberries and spun sugar distress inks.  I added the pink paper to the happy die and did my own cutting around it.  To make the sentiments stand out I put them on vellum.

Products I used:
SSS Center Cut Kaleidoscope BG
MFT Label Sentiments
HA Happy stamp & cut
Distress inks
WOW Silver Pearl embossing powder

Happy New Year!

Sharing a card I made for Simon Says Stamp latest Flickr Challenge.  The details of the contest can be found here.  I haven't made a card for a while and so it felt great getting this one completed.  Now that the holidays are over I bet there will be more cards being made.  There are so many great blogs with so much inspiration.

I stamped the background Kaleidoscope Leaves BG stamp on kraft paper with white pigment ink and let that dry.  I colored it with Prismacolor pencils and then die cut it with a SSS Stitched Rectangle die.  To make the sentiment stand out more I layered it on vellum that was cut with the Drifting Border die also from Simon Says Stamp.  It is a simple card and the coloring was great fun.

Products I used:
SSS Kaleidoscope Leaves BG
SSS Script Thanks die
SSS Drifting Stitches Border die
SSS Stitched Rectangle die

Happy New Year and Happy Stamping!
