Life is Better

Great Weekend to make cards for contests.  Here's my card for this month's Gina K. Designs May Monthly Mix Challenge.  Cat at Gina K was timely in making this month's theme one of encouragement, "Lean On Me."  There is a little extra challenge to make a matching envelope.

I began by using GKD Sea Glass ink on the GKD Rounded Swirl stencil, which I also used to decorate my envelope.  Using that same ink as well as black, I flicked splatters on the stenciling. The sentiment, which is from the GKD Wreath builder set, is set off with black braiding cord.  I think the black helps pull it all together.

Happy Stamping!

Grateful

Even though I am still working (from home), I've had time to make cards, mostly because I don't have to drive and my husband has taken up doing the grocery shopping.  I made this one for the Gina K. Designs April Monthly Mix Challenge,
"Spring Fling."

White pigment ink on the kraft card stock looks so pretty. I colored the flowers and leaves with Copic markers and the highlights with colored pencils that were blended with Gamsol. The sequins were added for interest.

Keep Growing

A new challenge is up at Gina K Designs.  The challenge goes with the season, Spring Fling.  It is hosted by Mindy Eggen and she has some beautiful cards for inspiration.  She also has a wonderful blog, Mindy Eggen Design.

My card it pretty straight forward.  I stamped the wreath from the You Are stamp set and filled it in with elements from the set.  The sentiment is from the Whimsical Wildflowers stamp set.  I masked the center area and then flicked watered-down ink on it that matched what I used on the wreath.  I embellished it with pearls and added the yellow Memory Box Double Stitch rectangle frame die.  It's great to have these challenges as a jumping off point for creating!

Rainbow Mandala

I just couldn't resist making one more card for Gina K. Designs Monthly Mix challenge "Somewhere Over the Rainbow."  I am loving the rainbow color scheme; it makes for such a cheery card.  March is a great month for this theme as rainbows give us hope for better days ahead.
I made this card using the Gina K Designs Mandala Burst stencil and the following Gina K inks: Bubblegum Pink, Peach Bellini, Lemon Drop, Applemint, Ocean Mist, and Lovely Lavender.  The sentiment is from the Just a Little stamp set.  I added sequins to give it a little texture.  I am also entering it in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, which is featuring Gina K Designs products.  Thanks for checking out my card!

Happy Stamping!

Hello Friend

I made another card for the March Monthly Mix Challenge on the Gina K. Designs blog.  This month it is "Somewhere Over the Rainbow."  The challenge is to create a project that has a rainbow theme in it, whether through the colors or the sentiment.  I made a rainbow wreath.

I used Gina K inks with the leaves from the Autumn Wreath Builder set to make my wreath.  The texture on the peach cardstock was made with the Taylored Expressions embossing folder, Bead Board, and I embellished it with matching colored sequins.  The sentiment is from the Doodle Sayings stamp set.

Gina K inks used:
Peach Bellini  Lemon Drop   Bubblegum Pink
Applemint      Ocean Mist     Lovely Lavender

Somewhere Over the Rainbow

Already a third of the way through March, how quickly time passes by.  I'm thankful I have found time to make a card for this month's challenge at Gina K. Designs.  The theme is "Somewhere Over the Rainbow."

I made my rainbow on strips of cardstock that was embossed using white embossing powder on the stamped Petite Flourish background stamp.  The strips were cut into random widths, then I used a blending brush to add the rainbow colors to them.  The brushes make that part so easy! I framed them with a die then added the flower, sentiment and sequins.  Rainbows are the wonderful sign of hope!

Here's another card for this month's Gina K Monthly Mix Challenge.

The challenge for this month is to add texture to your card. Gold embossing powder and sequins are what I used. I stamped the flowers from the Whimsical Wildflowers stamp set on watercolor paper and embossed them in gold.  I used Peach Bellini and Fresh Asparagus inks watered down as my paint.
